Plain language, not the legal version
Security & privacy
What happens to your information, your money and your photographs when you book us. The formal legal documents are linked at the bottom; this page is the readable version.
This website
It is served over HTTPS
Every page on shakerbarandbev.com is delivered over an encrypted connection, which is what the padlock in your browser’s address bar means. In practice it means nobody sitting between your device and this site can read what you send through the quote form. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which provides the certificate and the encryption.
What we collect, and why
Through the quote form: your name, contact details, and whatever you tell us about your event: date, venue, guest count, what you want at the bar. We collect it for one reason, which is to quote your event and, if you book, to run it. Through analytics: which pages were visited and roughly where from, so we know which parts of the site are useful.
We do not sell your information
Your details are not sold, rented or traded. They are shared only with the services we use to actually run the business: the system that holds our inquiries and sends our email, and our advertising platforms for measuring which ads produce inquiries. They are not shared with other wedding vendors, and nobody buys a list of engaged couples from us.
Cookies and tracking, and how to opt out
This site uses cookies for two things: measuring website traffic, and measuring whether our advertising works. If you are browsing from California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Washington, Illinois or Michigan, none of that loads until you agree to it; you will see a banner asking first, and declining is a genuine decline rather than a delayed yes. Everyone can change their mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals automatically.
Phone calls
The phone number shown on this site may be a tracking number that forwards straight to Shaker’s real line, so we can tell which adverts and pages actually produce calls. It rings the same people either way, and the number is not used for anything else.
Your event, your money, your photographs
What you pay, and when
A 50% retainer books your date. The remaining 50% is due 14 days before your event. The retainer is credited against your final amount due rather than charged on top of it, and your date is not held until it arrives.
The retainer is non-refundable, and that is the term worth understanding before you send it. If the event is canceled, the retainer can be applied to a future event within one calendar year of the original event date. If an event is canceled more than once, Shaker may cancel and retain all monies paid. The full cancellation terms, including what is retained at each stage of notice, are published on the pricing page rather than kept back until you ask.
How your payment details are handled
Payments run through Stripe, the payment processor used by millions of businesses and certified to PCI DSS Level 1 , the strictest level of card-industry security. ACH bank transfer is the primary method and carries no fee; cards are accepted with a 3% processing fee. Either way the transaction happens on Stripe's systems, so your card and bank details never touch Shaker's own. Shaker will never ask you for a card number by text or email, and any message that does is not from us.
Certification, insurance and your venue
Every Shaker team member is TABC certified and insured. TABC certification is the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission’s seller-server training: checking ID, pacing service, and refusing service when someone has had enough. Shaker also holds its own liquor license, which is why a bar package can include the alcohol rather than requiring you to buy it.
If your venue needs a copy of the insurance, or needs Shaker Bar & Bev named as additional insured, that can be issued. Allow up to one week for a certificate, which is the reason to forward the request the day your venue makes it rather than in the last fortnight before the wedding.
Getting hold of a person about this
Not a form. If you want to know what we hold about you, want it deleted, or have a complaint about any of the above, call (817) 873-2880 and a person will answer. Requests to delete your information are honored; the only things we keep are records we are legally required to keep, such as those relating to a contract you signed.
The formal documents
This page is written to be read. The documents that govern in a dispute are the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use and the Disclaimer. Our Accessibility Statement covers how we approach making this site usable.
Note for whoever maintains this: the old Showit site linked its Privacy Policy and Terms of Use to files on Google Drive. Those cannot be crawled, they read as improvised, and a couple about to send a deposit notices. All legal documents are now real pages on this domain.
Let’s get your date on the calendar
Tell us your date, venue and guest count and we’ll come back with a real quote. Reviewers say the planning conversation is the best part of working with us.
